Ordering your first roaster (and grinder) is a BIG thing. It is a daunting and expensive investment. We were looking for a trustworthy and supportive company to hold our hands through this process.

Kuban Roasters (especially Pelin) are exactly this. They were very helpful guiding us through the selection process. Pelin provided us with all the relevant information required to make a decision on which roaster/grinder were right for us. With the long, unforeseen, delays due to the pandemic, they were very apologetic. They were timely and transparent with the updates on the progress of the manufacturing.

The delivery went well, despite trying to navigate tiny Welsh lanes in an artic lorry with a lovely driver, who spoke no English. Somehow, with lots of hand signals and the help of a friendly local farmer with his JCB, we managed to offload the (very well packed) roaster/grinder and maneuver them into their new home. Kuban Roasters were then extremely helpful with the installation. Although the manuals are quite limited, Pelin was always available and efficient at providing us with any additional technical information that we required.

Once up and running, we had a couple of little teething problems. However, through Watsapp videos and Pelin liaising between us and their factory technicians, we were able to resolve the issues ourselves. Sadly, we then had a BIG glitch. The motor on the main drum fan was tripping our electric circuit. Our electrical engineer came and confirmed that this motor had blown – it does happen apparantly. Obviously, a huge panic.

However, again Kuban were fantastic. Within 10 days, they had TNT’d a replacement motor (within the warranty period). We are now back up and happily roasting and grinding away – Yay! We love Ivor our engine! Thank you to all at Kuban Roasters – we highly recommend both their service and equipment.
